WINTER PARK – Middle Park Medical Center has announced the grand opening of its new physical therapy branch in Winter Park.

The new Winter Park physical therapy branch of Middle Park Medical Center Rehabilitation Department is 900 square feet of ground-level space equipped with state-of-the-art physical therapy equipment. This outreach location will provide physical therapy services as well as Pilates-based rehabilitation and trigger point dry needling. Other outpatient rehabilitation services such as occupational therapy, hand therapy, speech therapy and massage therapy are offered at the hospital in Granby and all but hand therapy at the hospital in Kremmling. Cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation are also offered in the Granby and Kremmling hospitals. “We are happy to bring our physical therapy services to Winter Park,” said Sharon Justice, PT, DPT, Manager of Middle Park Medical Center Rehabilitation Services. “We have been seeing patients since April 4 and everything is going smoothly.”

One full-time physical therapist, one part-time physical therapist and one rehabilitation aide will run the remote operation. Georgia L. Norgren, PT, DPT will provide services full-time and Mara Pacyga, PT, MSPT will provide services two days per week. Julie Ehmann, rehabilitation aide, will manage patient scheduling at the branch.

All physical therapists at Middle Park Medical Center have graduated from accredited universities with post-baccalaureate degrees in physical therapy. They are required to pass the National Physical Therapy Exam and are licensed by the state of Colorado. The physical therapists at Middle Park Medical Center are experts in restoring and improving motion in people’s lives.

The department manager expects the demand for licensed physical therapy services to keep the Winter Park staff busy Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. closing. Patients are able to schedule appointments in the Winter Park outreach location by calling 970-887-5850.

In addition to opening the new branch, this year the hospital in Kremmling is celebrating its 80th anniversary while the hospital in Granby is celebrating its 1st year anniversary. “We are honored to have been able to serve this community since 1933 on the west side of the county and since 2012 on the east side of the county,” said Cole White, CEO. The expansion of physical therapy services into Winter Park is a way the district increases access to needed healthcare services, he said.
