More details on US 40 accident that resulted in serious injuries Monday

This Jeep Wrangler collided with a Ford Explorer on U.S. Highway 40 between Red Dirt Hill and the town of Granby on Monday morning.

A two-vehicle accident occurred on U.S. Highway 40 between Red Dirt Hill and the town of Granby Monday morning. Colorado State Patrol provided updates about the accident on Tuesday, Nov. 26.

According the State Patrol, all four people involved in the accident were transported the hospital with serious injuries. The agency stated the driver of the Jeep Wrangler was a 45-year-old man from Tabernash, with one passenger. The driver of the Ford Explorer was a 55-year-old woman from Granby, with one passenger.

The accident occurred at approximately 7:30 a.m. The Ford Explorer lost control going eastbound near mile post 215 on U.S. 40. The Ford entered the westbound lane where the Jeep was driving. The Ford slid, with its rear colliding with the front of the Jeep.



Names of the victims in this accident have not been released by officials at this time.
