MPHS Open Book: Team, league, gym " all new

Jared Rojo, varsity player of the boys basketball team was quoted in a press conference last week saying, “Can’t stop, won’t stop!”

Middle Park basketball is stepping into a new league and gym with a new attitude.

The team has a more defensive mind set on the court to add to their overpowering athleticism. Coach Reynolds is looking forward to competing in the new Frontier league. “We actually have a chance to make a run for league champs instead of hoping for a wild card spot.”

Mike Schmidt and Zane Bickler guarantee a league championship.

The new Panther home was going to be ready by their second tournament on Dec. 18, but fell behind in the beginning stages and will not be ready until early January. The school and both the boys and girls teams are excited to welcome the new competition into the new Panther jungle. The team’s home opener is against Highland High.

The boy’s first competitions are at the annual White River Electric Cowboy Shootout in Meeker. They are looking to be a dominant force in the tournament as they have been in years past. The week before the boys head out to Meeker, the girls make their journey. The girls are looking to be contenders as well.

Show your Panther Pride and support either the boy’s or girl’s team at their home competitions.
