National Sports Center for the Disabled gears up Friday Club lessons

WINTER PARK – Grand County students with either cognitive or physical adaptive needs, ages 7 and older, can experience the thrill of learning to ski or snowboard with National Sports Center for the Disabled Friday Club.

For five consecutive weeks, participants work with the same group and the same instructors in a program designed to provide the benefit of therapeutic recreation through consistency and continuity.

Taught in a small-group setting, all levels of skiers and riders are welcome for sessions held from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at a cost of $205 per participant ($41.00 per lesson, including lift ticket and equipment).

There will be no make-up dates for missed lessons.

Scholarships and transportation may be available for eligible participants.

Session one starts Friday, Jan. 13 and continues Jan. 20, 27 and Feb. 3 and 10; session two starts Friday, Feb. 17 and Feb. 24 and continues March 2, 9 and 16.
