New book chronicles Rocky Mountain National Park in postcards

Georga Feek
Sky-Hi News Intern

Around Rocky Mountain National Park by Suzanne Silverthorn is a wonderful collection of rare postcards and detailed captions that create a different way of learning about the history of Rocky Mountain National Park.

Focusing on the increase of settlers and tourists after the park was established in 1915, Silverthorn describes the influx of people into the area, both from the gateway communities of Grand Lake and Estes Park. The included postcards illustrate the development of these towns throughout the history of the park; images of hotels, social activities, and snapshots of scenery fill the pages of this book.
