New orthopedic surgeon available to serve Grand County
Dr. Jay Thompson has joined Steamboat Orthopaedic and Spine Institute, according to a news release. Thompson will be available to serve patients at clinics in Steamboat Springs, Fraser and Craig.
The release states that Thompson has a background in treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. Thompson is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon whose practice focuses on hip, knee and sports medicine injuries. He has completed an accredited fellowship in sports medicine as well as advanced training in hip preservation.
Thompson attended medical school at Rocky Vista University, completed an orthopedic surgery residency at Oklahoma State University Medical Center and completed a sports medicine fellowship at the Taos Orthopaedic Institute in New Mexico.
“Having been able to enjoy Steamboat and Fraser for years, and all that they have to offer, I’m thrilled to now be part of and contribute back to this incredible community,” Thompson said in the release.
