Nonprofit of the Week
The G.A.P. Fund for Youth (Grand Activities Program) was established in 2009 by the Grand Foundation and the Winter Park / Fraser Chamber of Commerce. This fund is available to Grand County youth ages birth to 18, to help provide a financial means to participate in non-academic activities and programs by providing and/or assisting with participation fees. The idea behind the G.A.P. Fund was to “bridge the gap” for financial need of families and organizations that enable youth to take part in activities that help them excel as people — activities that help to combat childhood obesity, foster recreation, omit poverty and help the youth of the county feel that they have been successful or have the opportunity to succeed With the addition of collaborators, Town of Winter Park and Deno’s Mountain Bistro, this fund has awarded out over $150,000 in just three short years.
