Nonprofit of the Week
BeWildfireReady.org was established in 2012 with the mission of helping Grand County residents and visitors live and play more safely with the threat of wildfire. It is a valuable resource for homeowners regarding mitigation, defensible space, emergency preparedness and evacuation. Grand County visitors can find important safety messages about campfires, outdoor smoking, and fire restrictions on the site. BWR’s social media sites provide a stream of timely and accurate news regarding wildfires, community events, and other pertinent information. Successfully preparing for a wildland fire enables individuals to take personal responsibility for protecting themselves, their family and property. This year, the organization will be going through some changes to become the Grand County Wildfire Council. If you would like to be involved, contact Schelly Olson at 970-887-3380 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
