Obit: Rit Flanagan Sr

Richard “Rit” John Flanagan Sr., 61, of Kremmling, passed away Oct. 1, 2009.

He was born Oct. 25, 1947, in Bristol, Conn., to John and Mary Flanagan. He enjoyed fishing on the lakes and rivers, talking and laughing with people in various stores and working on fixer-uppers in town. All these were things that Rit could be seen doing on any given day. Rit was well-known in the community for his wit, sense of humor, love of fishing and hard work.

Rit Flanagan passed away at home, Oct. 1, after a rapid progression of lung cancer. He lived his life with no regrets. He was loving, loyal and devoted to his wife of 28 years Pam Flanagan, their three children, and a grandson. Rit served his country by completing two tours in Vietnam, and then served on the home front as a family man.

Rit is fondly remembered by an older sister, younger brother, his immediate family, many many nieces and nephews, as well as countless friends and people whose lives he touched.

Gone from us to fish the crystal clear waters in the sky, he will be missed by so many.

Survivors include: wife Pam Flanagan, son Richard John Flanagan Jr., daughters Crystal and Jasmine Flanagan, brother John Flanagan Jr. and sister Linda Klimkewicz.

Memorial Services will be held in the summer of 2010.
