Alvin Edward Jarrell, Sr.Nov. 14, 1927 — Sept. 7, 2015

Alvin E. “Red” Jarrell passed away on Sept. 6, 2015. He was born Nov. 14, 1927, to Alvin and Ethel Jarrell. Al graduated from Oak Creek High School in 1947.

He married his childhood sweetheart Dorothy Reed Wilson, on Oct. 16, 1947. Upon graduation Al and Dorothy moved from Oak Creek to Steamboat Springs, Colo., to pursue his lifetime career with Mountain Bell. Al and his family moved to Walden, Colo., and then Granby, where he served as a manager for Mountain Bell until his retirement in 1983. Al and Dorothy spent their summers in Granby and the winters in Apache Junction, Ariz. Alvin enjoyed calling square dances at guest ranches throughout Grand County. Al was a member of the A.F & A.M Masonic Lodge.

Al was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Evelyn Nordheim (Shelby), Jenny Gallagher (Ed), and brother Marion Jarrell. Al is survived by his wife Dorothy, his son Alvin E. Jarrell II (Cheri) of Aurora, his daughter Terri Van Tiger of Dillon, his granddaughter Devon Jarrell of St. Louis, Mo., his grandson Alvin E. Jarrell III (Jaime) of Waipahu, Hawaii, and his four great-grandchildren, Alvin E. Jarrell IV, Chloe, Kinleigh and Teegan of Waipahu, Hawaii.
