Obituary: Constance B. Newton

Constance (Connie) B. Newton, 80, of Fraser, passed away on July 22, 2016. She was born in Newark, N.J. on August 16, 1935.

Connie met Thomas W. Newton Sr. at Chanter Wood Camp in Lee, Mass., in the summer of 1953. They were married April 27, 1957. She graduated from East Orange General Hospital in 1956 and became a newborn nursery nurse. One of Connie’s greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren. She loved and often said she played golf eight days a week. She was an active member in the community serving on the Mission Committee at the Church of Eternal Hills and as treasurer for PEO. Connie volunteered at the Fraser Public Library and served on the board of Grand County Seniors.

She is survived by her husband Thomas Newton Sr, her sister Elmira (Midy) Mangiante, three children: Thomas Newton Jr. (wife, Carolyn), Linda Moore (husband, Chris) Cindy Moynahan (husband, Shawn) and three grandchildren: Josh Keen, Danielle Keen and Megan Moore.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to NorthWestColoradoHealth.org. When donating please designate Grand County under special programs and in Connie’s name. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., August 10 at the Church of the Eternal Hills, 100 Meadows Blvd, Tabernash, CO 80478. Following the service, we would like to invite everyone to a reception in the Fellowship Hall organized by the friends of the family.
