David Hartford, 78, embarked on his next great adventure on Saturday, March 15, 2025.
Dave was born in Green Bay on February 27, 1947. After graduating from Preble High School, he went on to become a jack of all trades. Among other things, he was an executive chef, an owner-operator of both a general equipment rental company and a party rental company, a rancher and big truck driver and a designer and builder of greenhouses. He loved boating, fishing, road trips, camping and gardening in his greenhouse.
He is survived by Mary (Hilbert), his “best friend, buddy, bride, sweetheart and love of my life”; siblings, Daniel Hartford (Barbara) and Julie Morgans (Mark); children, Matthew Hartford (Suzanne), Samuel Hartford (Kristin), Jonathon Hartford (Cosima), Emily Symank (Kenneth), Peter Hartford, and Rebekah Seffens; and grandchildren: Christian, Patricia, Daniel, Kaia, Bode, Isabel and Noah.
His father, Orville Hartford, mother, Ida (Kusch) Hartford, and his children David, Jeffrey and Christian preceded him in death.
Passionate and outgoing, “Uncle Dave” will be remembered for his sage advice, his generosity, and for living according to the conviction of his beliefs.
