Obituary: Dorothy Elnora Jarrell

Dorothy Elnora Jarrell passed away Sept.18, 2015. She was born April 16, 1929, in Aylmer, Ontario, Canada. Dorothy came to the United States as a child where she settled in Oak Creek, Colo., with her step family.

Dorothy graduated from Oak Creek High School where she met and married the love of her life Alvin “Red” Jarrell. Dorothy enjoyed her life in Routt County. She was a cheerleader and a drum majorette in high school. Dorothy married Alvin “Red” Jarrell in 1947, in Hot Sulphur Springs. Al and Dorothy celebrated 69 years of marriage and love for each other this year.

Dorothy enjoyed her family and friends and spending time with them. She loved the change in seasons and being outside enjoying the fall colors, snow and her lilac brushes.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband Alvin Jarrell, her mother and father Wilson, her stepmother and stepfather Carlson, her brother Clifford Wilson and stepsister Donna Carlson. She is survived by her children, son Alvin E Jarrell Jr. II of Aurora, Colo., daughter Terri Vantiger of Frisco, Colo., her two grandchildren, Devon Jarrell of St. Louis, Mo., and Alvin Jarrell Jr. III of Honolulu, Hawaii, and 4 great- grandchildren Alvin Jarrel Jr IV, Chloe Jarrell, Kenleigh Jarrell and Teegan Jarrell all of Hawaii.
