Obituary: Ernest (Ernie) Adolf Seipp

Ernest (Ernie) Adolf Seipp, 87, of Granby, passed away on Aug. 10, 2015, at Brookdale Senior Living in Lakewood, Colo. Ernie was born in Derby, Colo., on Sept. 20, 1927, to Adolf Seipp and Edna (Woodard) Seipp. Ernie spent most of his life in the Grand Lake-Granby area where he met his wife Kathrine (Potts) Seipp. He spent his time ranching, driving school buses for 37 years, operating “Ernie’s Septic Tank Service”, and raising his family.

Ernie is survived by daughters Becky Seipp and Deborah Seipp Thompson (Michael), step-sister Maryann Sullivan, grand children Doug Wray (Christie), April Scott, James Stafford (Katelyn), Timothy Hardy Stafford, Christopher Thompson, three great grand children and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. Ernie was preceded in death by his parents, wife Kathy, two daughters (Wanda Wray and Patty Stafford), four sisters and one brother.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Ernie’s name be made to Sun Crest Hospice at 777 East Speer Blvd., Denver, CO 80203 or Heart of the Mountains Hospice at P.O. Box 140, Hot Sulphur Springs, CO. At Ernie’s request, there will be no memorial service.
