Obituary: Beverly Joann Baker
Beverly Joann Baker passed away Aug. 23, 2008 at the age of 72 in her home at Granby.
Joann was born Jan. 26, 1936 in Winona, Kan. to Joseph R and Zola M. (Overholt) Stithem. She married Sherman “Bob” Baker on March 5, 1957 near Boise City, Okla., and they raised four children together. Joann was lifelong resident of Grand County living in Tabernash, Kremmling and Granby.
While she lived in Kremmling she ran daycare out of her home and cared for many of her neighborhood children. She was member of the Kremmling Community Church and a longtime member of the Kremmling Christian Women’s Club. Joann was an avid sports fan and loved watching the Broncos.
Bob took Joann on the trip of her lifetime when they went to San Diego to see the Broncos play in the 31st Super Bowl. She also enjoyed watching all the sports activities of her children and rarely missed a game.
One of her hobbies was sewing and making dolls and animals.
Joann will truly missed by all of friends and family who dearly loved her.
Joann is survived by her husband of 51 years Bob; her children Jon Baker, Terri Lane, Peggy Bryan, and Gerald Baker; her brother Richard E. Stithem; her six grandchildren Jared Baker, Jessie Lane, Nathan Baker, Spenser Bryan, Luke Lane, and Zach Baker; the Overholt Family of Kremmling and the Stithem Family.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Aug. 28, at the Kremmling Community Church. Burial will follow at Kremmling Cemetery with Jesse Lane, Nathan Baker, Jon Baker, Jerry Baker, Luke Lane, Spenser Bryan and Jared Baker serving as casketbearers.
