Obituary: Gene Gross
Gene Gross, a Grand Junction resident for the past seven years, entered into eternal life on Aug. 27, 2008. He was 57 years old.
Gene was born to Paul and Margaret (Decker) Gross on Feb. 2, 1951 in Aberdeen, S.D. He married Charlotte Bashore on Oct. 23, 1993 in Broomfield. She survives.
Mr. Gross was a self-employed master plumber and served his country in the U.S. Army from 1968 – 1972. He enjoyed golfing, boxing, fishing, boating, water and snow skiing, trap and pistol shooting and hiking.
Gene is survived by his wife, son Darrell Garcia of Grand Junction, Michelle (Rick) Rosario of Sioux Falls, S.D., Jill (Bill) Hansen of Granby, brother William Gross of SOmerville, Tenn., sister Margie (Richard) Dykstra of Westminster, nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and one brother.
Visitation will be from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 2 at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary with a memorial service following at 11:30 a.m. Reverand Richard Anderson will officiate. Military honors will take place at 1 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
