Obituary: Merle Adelia Bucher

Merle was born Nov. 16, 1916 in DeQueen, Ark. to Lulu Scott and Walter McLaughlin, and passed away on June 13, 2009 in Lakewood.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Kenneth McLaughlin, and her husband Julian H. Bucher.

She was a retired employee of United Airlines with over 25 years of service. After retirement, she and her husband lived in Brazil for two years and traveled extensively around the globe.

Merle was an avid gardener, loved to fish in the Colorado mountain streams and lakes, and a sports fan.

She is survived by her daughter Jamie Laywell and husband Frank Poetry of Texas, grandson, James Daley and wife Tina of Lakewood, two step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A private memorial service to celebrate her life will be held.
