Obituary: Wilfred Warren Wiggers

Wilfred Warren Wiggers (Bill) passed from this life Feb. 5, 2009 at La Hacienda, Green Valley, Ariz. He was born July 8, 1924 in Evansville, Ind., the son of the late William and Frieda Wiggers. He graduated from Indiana University with a degree in accounting. Bill married the love of his life, Martha L. (Carnes) Wiggers Jan. 14, 1950, and celebrated 56 years of devotion before her death in 2006.

Bill was a member of the U.S. Army and served proudly during World War II where he was involved in the “Battle of the Bulge”. He spent a majority of his working life as a respected financial executive with Ball Brothers Research Corporation, moving to Boulder in 1965. The family enjoyed spending weekends in Grand County.

Bill and Martha spent their retirement years in both Green Valley, Ariz. and Grand County. Always part of the family of God wherever they lived, they held dual membership at both Valley Presbyterian Church in Green Valley and Church of the Eternal Hills in Colorado.

Bill was preceded in death by Martha and their infant daughter, Nancy. Bill is survived by his daughter, Barbara (Frank) Edson of Benton, Penn. and his son, James (Anna) Wiggers of Redington Beach, Fla., six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held on Feb. 8, 2009 at La Posada Park Center, Green Valley, Ariz. to celebrate Bill’s life and death in the Lord. An interment service will be held at Church of the Eternal Hills in Grand County on June 28, 2009.
