Old Winter Park Visitor’s Center demolished to make way for new Rendezvous Center

WINTER PARK — Rendezvous Colorado demolished the former home of the Winter Park- Fraser Chamber of Commerce on Monday morning in the first step to build its new Rendezvous Center.

The Rendezvous Center will be a multipurpose project housing the Rendezvous sales center, the Chamber, the Visitor’s Center and other tenants, as well as housing. The building will be located along Highway 40, across from Hideaway Park.

Rendezvous received the building from Winter Park in May as part of a $3.5 million agreement between Rendezvous and the town of Winter Park for the naming rights of the Rendezvous Event Center at Hideaway Park.

The Chamber of Commerce moved out in September so that Rendezvous could begin the demolition and construction of the new center. Until the new building is completed, the chamber will be sharing space with Real Estate of Winter Park, which is also located on Highway 40 next to The Perk coffeehouse.

The new Rendezvous Center is expected to be completed in 2020.
