One step inside and you find yourself shrugging off the stresses of daily life.

Right now it’s just an elaborate guest home, reserved for the homeowners and their guests to enjoy some time away from the bustle of Denver, but the footprint already exists for the addition of a main house. When completed the whole home will stand tall atop its exclusive vertical cliff overlooking Green Mountain Reservoir.

While technically in Summit County, the 70-acre property is most easily accessed off Highway 9, south of Kremmling, inside Grand County.

After some hairpin curves and steep ascents, the gated entry to Shadow Creek Ranch is easy to miss. But once through the gates, the sprawling community, boasting dozens of relatively hidden homes, shows that it’s meant for people seeking retreat.

Some more turns and down a tree-covered driveway, the air opens up and reveals the Clutch Design Studio Cliff House, a custom built home owned by a couple from Denver, who wished to remain anonymous.

The guest home is large enough to comfortably house three couples, with every element of the masterfully designed home speaking to craftsmanship and the architectural acumen of its Colorado design team.

The residence itself sits on a dramatic southern cliff that looks over the Green Mountain Reservoir below and the Rocky Mountains rising above. The exterior boasts rustic wood and Moss Rock rusticated stone resulting in a timeless facade reminiscent of a structure that has lasted on this land for generations. Rough interior finishes provide a durable material for a rugged, carefree lifestyle.

Clutch Design Studio, which designed the home to the owner’s particular desires, welcomed the challenge of marrying modern comforts with timeless mountain mannerisms, making for cohesive spaces that are aesthetically beautiful and reminiscent of grander ski lodges or rustic mountain mansions.

Every aspect of mountain living was taken into careful consideration when selecting form, furniture, as well as finishes, according to Clutch.

The pinnacle of this home is its completely customized, heated garage space that houses a basketball court, a full bar, a 4K projector and hidden screen, bountiful room for vehicles and Lutron lighting systems throughout. The garage is an ultimate entertaining space, offering activities for inhabitants of all ages in a comfortable and safe space.

The second phase of this home build will include a main house, reminiscent of luxury lodges that can be found in Vail, Beaver Creek or Avon. This addition will be complete with guest suites, living areas, a grand kitchen and formal dining space, and much more, along with a price tag well into the millions.
