One Book 4 Colorado event, free book for 4-year-olds
One Book 4 Colorado provides a copy of Giraffes Can’t Dance by Giles Andreae, illustrated by Guy Parker-Rees to all 4-year-olds across the state.
The program encourages families to read together every day, adds new books to home libraries helps develop pre-reading skills in preparation for kindergarten, and makes reading fun for young children. Giving all the children the same book encourages families and young children to talk with each other about the book and share it with one another.
This book was chosen because it is an exceptional title for four-year-olds. It is engaging, fun to read aloud, and has memorable illustrations.
Pre-school children can pick up a free copy of the book in Grand County during story time at one of the libraries in Fraser, Granby, Hot Sulphur Springs, Grand Lake and Kremmling at the following times:
Granby Library Wednesday, April 13 10:10 a.m.
Hot Sulphur Springs Library Wednesday, April 13 11:15 a.m.
Juniper Library Thursday, April 14 10:30 a.m.
Kremmling Library Thursday, April 14 10: 15 and 11:15 a.m.
