Kremmling Crossroads: A little rain can’t dampen spirits at Middle Park Fair
August 13, 2008
The most sure way to end a dry spell in the weather has always been to schedule an outdoor event, and this certainly held true for the Middle Park Fair and Rodeo this week.
The rains may have dampened the rodeo grounds but not the fun. There were a couple of West Grand seventh-graders who won in the Lego building contest at the fair. Cody Volt was awarded the blue ribbon in his age category and Dominic Ebersole won a blue ribbon in the creative category and was Reserve Champion for his age group. They have only a short time to celebrate as it is back to school in Kremmling on Monday, Aug. 18.
Though they were back in town recently to visit, it looks like former Kremmling residents Mike and Kathy Sparacino won’t be coming back to stay after all. They have closed on their house in Arvada, so Inell’s former neighbors have moved on but not forgotten their friends here. Kathy’s Birthday is Aug. 23.
The upcoming weekend brings a new event to Kremmling on Saturday that the local Chamber of Commerce is very exited about. In conjunction with Timberline’s Gore Canyon 2008, a Class V whitewater rafting event, the town is sponsoring the Riverdays Gore Fest event. It will take place in the town square from noon until midnight and feature the Whitewater Ramble Band, an awards ceremony, educational and vendor booths along with fun stuff for the kids. You can find all the details on the Timberline Tours Web site.
The Chamber’s next after hours mixer will be at the CEO Bed and Breakfast on Aug. 21 from 5:30 until 7 p.m.
Another chance for some late summer fun in the town square will be the Colorado Corvette Club’s car show on Aug. 23.
Thank you to everyone who submitted items this week and please continue to submit local items of interest to Larry Ebersole at Amentalengineer@cs.com or P.O. Box 564, Kremmling Colorado 80459.
