Palin endorses GOP candidate in 3rd District

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) – Former Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin is endorsing a Steamboat Springs Republican trying to replace incumbent Democrat John Salazar in the 3rd Congressional District.

Palin describes Bob McConnell as a constitutional conservative who wants to limit government. Palin made the endorsement Monday on her Facebook page.

McConnell faces an Aug. 10 primary election with fellow Republican Scott Tipton of Cortez. The winner will face Salazar in November.
