A traffic accident near Parshall on Monday morning has sent a local resident to the hospital.

According to the Colorado State Patrol, Jessica Galloway of Parshall is reported in stable condition at St. Anthony’s Central Hospital in Denver. She is expected to make a full recovery.

The accident that injured Galloway took place at about 11 a.m. Monday. She was driving westbound on U.S. Highway 40 and apparently attempted to turn into the Parshall Inn. Her vehicle collided with an eastbound vehicle driven by Sheila Percival of Watson, Ill.

In the crash, the State Patrol said Galloway’s vehicle spun about 90 degrees and came to rest off the highway on its wheels as did Percival’s vehicle.

Grand County EMS ambulances and other rescue personnel rushed to the accident scene. Galloway was flown by a Flight For Life helicopter for treatment. Percival and three other occupants of her vehicle were taken to Kremmling Memorial Hospital where they were treated and later released.
