On May 21, two patrol division members with the Grand County Sheriff’s Office accepted the 2025 Outstanding Team Dedication to Impaired Driving Enforcement Award for the local law enforcement and mountain region from Mothers Against Drunk Driving and the Colorado Department of Transportation.
Deputies Katie Revette and Michael Wagner accepted the award at the Law Enforcement Champions Awards night in Westminster.
The award was given to the sheriff’s office team due to their dedicated work with drunk and drugged driving enforcement. The news release from the sheriff’s office writes that the patrol division, “has shown a commitment to visible and proactive enforcement including public awareness and outreach, community education, and professional development.”
Grand County’s local law enforcement agencies maintain professional partnerships with one another on high-visibility driving enforcement to work together as a joint task force for the region.
The Kremmling Police Department, Granby Police Department and Fraser Winter Park Police Department all work in unison to provide additional overtime DUI shift coverage throughout the year.
Grand County Sheriff Brett Schroetlin said that the cooperation of local partner agencies is vital to the success of high visibility impaired driving enforcement in Grand County.
“As sheriff, I am thankful and honored to serve in a community that values strong relationships within public safety,” Schroetlin said.
