A generous family recently gave an older cat at the local animal shelter hope for a bright future.

The family wanted to perform a “pay it forward” act of kindness for one of the shelter animals, named Tony, who is a 15- to 16-year-old, neutered male. He was left behind when his original family moved.

The family wanted to give Tony a new start so they paid for his adoption fee to make it easier for whomever decided to adopt him.

“(The family) knew Tony may have other expenses down the road because of his age so they wanted to help out in any way to give Tony the wonderful home he deserves to live out the remaining years of his life,” said Mary Ann Kerstiens with the Grand County Animal Shelter. “Please come check out Tony and see if he may be a perfect match for you. Thanks to this wonderful family for such a generous and loving gift to give to Tony.”

You can visit Tony at the Grand County Animal Shelter, located at 3475 County Rd. 57 in Granby, or call 970-887-2988.
