Peaks n’ Pines Quilt Guild honors veterans

The Peaks n’ Pines Quilt Guild has been making quilts for veterans in honor of Independence Day, and this week the guild presented a quilt to Grand Lake resident Carl Montoya in honor of his service in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He is a longtime resident of Grand County who volunteers and participates with the Mountain Family Center’s Grand Seniors group. His daughter and son-in-law were there for the presentation and wrapped him in the quilt. The guild was also on hand, as well as members from the Grand Seniors.
