Permanent stage for Hideaway Park

Hideaway Park will be getting a permanent stage for live entertainment.

The Winter Park Town Council passed a motion to approve a maximum price of $3,338,314 in a contract with Big Valley Construction, LLC for the completion of the stage at their July 19 meeting. The maximum price will be included in a contract that is being completed by the town attorney.

The council reached the agreement on the following facts: The Town Council has reviewed and approved the design for the Hideaway Park stage; the stage provides for increased economic development activity by enhancing a regional draw in our community, provides for long-term cost savings by not having to rent a stage, and provides for the completion of Hideaway Park as envisioned by the Town Council; the stage has been funded in the Town’s Financial Management Plan as well as identified in the Town’s 2016 Annual Budget; and the stage project is necessary for the betterment of the Winter Park community, the Fraser Valley, and Grand County.

The contract will include a deadline for completion of the stage, minus landscaping installation, of Friday, June 16, 2017.
