Philanthropists support Shining Stars
Ray May, from Denver and Fraser, secured a $5,000 grant from the Million Dollar Round Table Foundation on behalf of the Shining Stars Foundation.
May, of AXA Equitable Financial Advisors and a Round Table Foundation member, is an active supporter of the Shining Stars Foundation. He nominated and endorsed the grant application.
The Shining Stars Foundation is a nonprofit organization that provides diversified recreational, sport, cultural, educational, and social outreach programs for children and young adults with cancer and life-threatening diseases at no cost to the child or their families.
The Round Table Foundation grant supports the Grand County Summer Adventure held in Winter Park and other outreach programs. Ray presented the grant to the Shining Stars Foundation on July 29 at the Grand County Summer Adventure dinner and Blues Society Concert in Cooper Creek Square. As many as 150 people attended the Grand County Summer Adventure including children, their families, and volunteers.
This year, the Million Dollar Round Table Foundation is expected to award more than $1 million in grants to more than 100 charities.
Million Dollar Round Table Foundation was created in 1959 to provide members with a means to give back to their communities. Since its inception, the Foundation has donated more than $23 million in 67 countries around the world and all 50 U.S. states. The majority of these funds were raised by members.
