Photo: Donation jump-starts Grand County Library District campaign

Merilyn Hunter, left, and Nancy Abbott, of the Friends of the Library, award a $1,000 donation to Jill Miles, Rosemary Knerr, and Dede Fay, of the Committee for Sustainable Grand County Libraries. The money was given to help with the campaign concerning a question that will appear on voter ballots in the November election. The donation is intended to help spread the word, through mailings, why a 1.5 mill increase is needed to help keep libraries operating. The award was presented during a gathering at Brickhouse 40 in Granby on Thursday, Sept. 19.
