Phyllis L. Joy

Phyllis L. Joy was born on Aug. 11, 1918 to Charles and Edna Harris near St. Joseph, Mo. On June 18, 1938, she married William T. Joy and moved to Richmond, Mo. The had two daughters, Joyce and Judith. Judith died shortly after birth.

The family moved to Denver in 1952.

Upon retirement from Storage Tech, she and Bill moved to St. David, Ariz. After his death in 2000, she continued to live there until in November 2005, following a stroke, she moved to the Cliffview Assisted Care Center in Kremmling.



She is survived by Joyce Ackerson of Hot Sulphur Springs and Rick Ackerson and his family, Tabatha, Crystale and John of Haslet, Texas.

She will be remembered as a wonderful artist and her passion, which lasted 25 years, for writing a book about the life of her grandfather, a galvanized Yankee.



Funeral services will be Friday, Dec. 7, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church and a Memorial Service at Cliffview at 2 p.m.
