Postal Service issues special postmark commemorating Grand County Winter Sports Carnival
The U.S. Postal Service has issued a special collector’s postmark to commemorate the Grand Winter Sports Carnival.
The First Day of Issue is Dec. 30.
To have your mail postmarked with the special cancellation, bring it to the Hot Sulphur Springs Post Office on Dec. 30, form 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The collectors’ postmark, which celebrates a century of skiing in Colorado, depicts a skier in action down one of Grand County’s legendary slopes.
If you can’t get to the post office on that day, you can get your mail postmarked through Feb. 11, 2012.
You may also send letters under cover in a larger envelope directly to the office at Postmaster, 506 Grand Avenue, Hot Sulphur Springs, 80451.
