Pregnant woman loses baby after Denver hit-and-run

DENVER (AP) – Denver police are looking for the driver of a vehicle that hit a pregnant woman in Denver.

The 34-year-old woman was six weeks away from giving birth and lost her baby.

She was hit as she crossed the street in the Stapleton neighborhood Thursday around dusk. KUSA-TV reports that doctors were forced to deliver her baby but he didn’t survive.

The woman was reported to be in serious but stable condition.

Police say the vehicle was either a dark blue or black SUV.

One witness said the driver went through a stop sign before hitting the woman.
