Preparing for the Grand County 2008 Parade of Homes

Premier homes across Grand County will have open doors Saturday, Aug. 2, as this year’s Parade of Homes begins.

The free, self-driving tour event runs two weekends, Aug. 2 and 3 and Aug. 9 and 10, and highlights at least two-dozen, single and multi-family homes.

The first seven homes on the Parade list, listed as Neighborhood Sponsors, include three homes at Rendezvous ” 1735 Pioneer Trail, 80 Pinecone Trail, 850 Rendezvous Road, 350 Lone Eagle Dr. in Granby Ranch and three Playground Destination Properties, Inc. ” Fraser Crossing #3306 at 670 Winter Park Dr. and Founders Pointe #4652 and #4668, both at 580 Winter Park Dr.

The trio at Rendezvous in Fraser are from the Freemont, Pioneer and Corona floor plans.

The Corona Plan BigHorn Cabin model from Colonnade Resort Communities at 1735 Pioneer Trail has four bedrooms, 5.5 baths and 4,215 square feet. Special features include a clerestory wall of windows, extensive natural woods, see-through indoor/outdoor fireplace, three master suites and two-car garage.

The designer is Bothwell/Davis/George Architects.

The three-bedroom, three-bath Colonnade Resort Communities home at 80 Pinecone Trail is a Pioneer model that represents the newly-opened ElkHorn Collection of townhomes, designed to reach a price below other offerings with the 1,100-acre expanse. In the Parade entry the company has created a main-floor master suite which complements two additional bedrooms upstairs, both configured as masters with access to a private bath (with model option for a fourth bedroom).

There’s also upscale kitchen and bath finishes (stainless appliances, hardwood cabinets, and a high-tech communication center), and two-car attached garage. Total square footage is 1,755.

Colonnade Resort Communities’ MooseHorn Cabin at 850 Rendezvous Road is from the Freemont Plan and resonates with Rendezvous’ grand theme as a family gathering place. This “Freemont” model is a three-bedroom, three-bath design with 1,755 square feet, two-car garage, rustic styling, wide-open entertaining area with stone fireplace, spacious master with its own walk-out patio and see-through fireplace to a five-piece bath, as well as natural lighting and views throughout.

The Lodgepole Home at 350 Lone Eagle Drive is a Retreat Model of semi-custom homes that allow buyers to use a building block approach to creating 1,200 to 3,500 square feet of living space. Several floor plans are available for each level or customers may custom their own plan. The home on display has 3,117 square feet with four bedrooms, an office/bedroom, 4.75 bathrooms, great, family and bunk rooms; gourmet kitchen and two-car garage. The home achieved an Energy Star

Rating of Five Star Plus, with features that cut utility costs to a fifth of that of a traditionally built home. CRS Architects, LLC is the architect.

Fraser Crossing #3306 is a two-bedroom, two-bath condo with 998 square feet. Construction features include stone veneer, heavy timber, board and batten, wood siding exterior detailing, asphalt shingles, and standing seam Galvalume roof.

Additional items of interest include outdoor spa for each building, gas fireplaces with wood mantels and trim, designer duvet, designer light fixtures, outdoor fireplace, and separate barbecue for each building.

Founders Pointe #4652 is a studio unit with 458 square feet with construction features similar to that of Fraser Crossing. Additional accessories include key card entry, solid wood entry doors, granite countertops and designer detail.

Founders Pointe #4668 is a one-bedroom, one-bath unit with 610 square feet. Construction is similar to that of #4652, with additional features to include GE stainless steel appliances, private deck/balcony, king bed in the master suite, and tile floors in the kitchen and bath. Builder for all three Playground Destination Properties is Milender White Construction, with the architect as Oz Architecture.

The event includes a Western Living Experience/Art Walk Expo Aug. 2 and 3 and a Green Building Expo on Aug. 9 and 10 in Hideaway Park, which overlap with Winter Park Arts Week and Fraser River Days activities and exhibitors.

Parade of Home registration points are at Playground Destination at the Winter Park Resort, Winter Park/Fraser Valley Chamber of Commerce, Rendezvous and at Grand Elk.
