President’s handling of foreign affairs is ‘an embarrassment’
To the Editor:
On Sept. 2, 1901, Theodore Roosevelt stated it was best to “Speak softly and carry a big stick” when dealing with foreign affairs. Fast forward 112 years to today and you have President Obama and a U.S. foreign policy that would best be described as “Speak loudly and carry a little stick.”
The current situation regarding Syria is at best an embarrassment. While it comes as no surprise based on the President’s background as a community organizer, it is discouraging to see the White House and State Department struggling to remain relevant on the international stage.
