Rafting accident victim was on teambuilding trip with friends

The victim of Thursday afternoon rafting accident on the Upper Colorado River has been identified as Susan Pyeatt-Terpening, 65, from Glendale, Ariz.
According to Grand County Undersheriff James Campbell, the woman was rafting with co-workers and friends on a teambuilding trip in the area know as Needles Eye when the raft overturned and she was thrown into the water.
At approximately 3:15 PM on June 2, 2011 the Grand County Communication Center received a report of a possible drowning on the Colorado River near Radium. She was still in the water at the time.
She was taken out of the Colorado River at the Radium BLM Campground. An attempt to resuscitate her was not successful.
Members of the Grand County Sheriff’s Office, Grand County Search and Rescue and Grand County EMS responded to the area.
The Grand County Sheriff’s Office and the Grand County Coroners Office are continuing their investigation into the incident.
