Ray Budisavljevic: What is wrong with the Democrats

To the editor:

I don’t normally respond to letters to the editor but I could not let Glenn Bakken’s comments go.

Independents actually know that the stimulus was a gift to public sector unions and did not create one private sector job. They also know that government money is now being wasted on so-called “green energy projects” that line Obama’s supporters’ pockets with cash. They know that Obama/Pelosi/Reid have raised the debt by historic amounts and that in the private sector, this kind of criminally negligant behavior would result in jail terms. Independents know that the affordable health act is neither affordable nor a health act – just government control of our lives. They know that premiums are going up and they know that coverage is going down. They surely know that they do not want a government-run health care system that would be run just as well as the post office.

Independents know that Obama has reduced oil production on government lands. Only private investors have increased oil production in this country. Independents know that Obama’s policies have destroyed the U.S. dollar and that this is the main reason that gas prices are driving towards $5 per gallon. Independents know that Obama is ignoring the constitution and acting like a ruler – he is only the president, our elected representative. Independents are scared that inflation will kick into overdrive because we are recklessly printing money. Independents know that Obama has increased regulation on private businesses in so many ways that many of todays successful companies could not be started now. More that 50 percent of the population believes that Obama is a total failure.

Independents know this and so do Republicans. What is wrong with the Democrats?
