Children and families were a focus for Realtors recently. Jennifer O’Connor, Broker/owner of Real Estate of Winter Park and Grand County Board of Realtors (GCBOR) volunteer, reports, “Once again the GCBOR back-to-school donations for the Mountain Family Center school supply drive were over the top. All the kiddos who have benefited from the donations say, “thank you.”
“I have coordinated this annual Realtor community drive for the past years now. I still walk away at the end feeling so lucky to work with such an amazing group of people. Our members always step up to the plate without hesitation to reach out to our community,” said O’Connor.
Reaching out to help with local housing needs CARHOF (Colorado Association of Realtors Housing Opportunity Foundation) Grand County coordinator and GCBOR volunteer, Katie Riemenscheider, also Broker/owner with Real Estate of Winter Park, indicated approximately $1,730 was recently donated to the Mountain Family Center. “CARHOF and the GCBOR also gave $1,730 each to Grand County Habitat for Humanity and Grand County Advocates.
“We all know one of our biggest challenges is affordable housing. What a better way for the real estate community to help our neighbors by setting up a simple system to enable CARHOF money to directly benefit our local organization promote affordable housing programs. We are so excited about this project and know it will continue to grow,” Katie said.
Stewart Title of Colorado-Winter Park is one of the major sponsors of the CARHOF program. Laura Wooldridge, Division President said, “We are so proud, personally and professionally, to be a part. Not only does CARHOF promote home ownership in our community, it also helps the real estate industry, our local economy, and Colorado-based housing organizations and contractors. It is a win-win for everybody.”
CARHOF is one of Colorado’s most reliable affordable housing resources. Since 1990, this nonprofit foundation has helped thousands of Colorado residents with their housing needs.
