Recovery crews find body of hiker in Park County
FAIRPLAY (AP) – A coroner is trying to identify a body found on Bison Peak in Park County after it was recovered by a private recovery team.
According to the Denver Post, the body is likely to be that of 44-year-old Frank Stanley of Englewood, who went missing on July 25 while hiking. Park County Coroner David Kintz Jr. is trying to identify the body, recovered on Saturday.
The Park County Sheriff’s Office abandoned efforts to retrieve the body after three rescuers were injured and a horse was injured and had to be put down.
