Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre’s 2011 Youth Theatre Workshop Program registration dates are quickly approaching.

Last year, RMRT offered 100 Grand County youth a unique educational, cultural and positive life experience through participation in a theatre education and training workshop. RMRT will again offer three workshops throughout the summer in our brand new theatre.

RMRT is also excited to welcome Chicago actors and teachers Joel Ewing and Laura Bess Ewing as workshop directors accompanied by members of RMRT’s 2011 acting company as additional instructors.

Registration for the RMRT Teen Theatre Academy (TTA) will take place April 13. The TTA is an intensive three-week program focusing on the craft of theatre, music and dance. This program will also focus on preparation for high school and college theatre study and creative writing.

Offered to ages 13-18, the workshop begins on July 19 and culminates in three cabaret-style performances with original material on Aug. 6-7.

Registration fee for this workshop is $250.

On April 14, registration will open for the Youth Theatre Workshop (YTW), offered to 7-9 year-olds. This two-week workshop is geared toward introducing and practicing the basics of theatre performance. Beginning July 5, participants will learn Broadway song and dance numbers and perform three shows on July 16 and 17.

Registration fee for this workshop is $200.

April 15 will offer registration for the Youth Theatre Production (YTP), the three-week workshop offered to 10-12 year-olds. This program, beginning on July 11, is devoted to producing the full-length theatrical production of The Rockin’ Tale of Snow White!. This fresh and fun retelling of a classic fairy tale will be performed during three shows on July 30-31.

Registration fee for this workshop is $225.

Registration for each workshop is offered on a first-come-first-served basis beginning at 8 a.m. each day. Participants can either register in person at the RMRT administrative office, 404 Vine Street, Grand Lake, or by phone at (970) 627-5087 or (970) 627-8173.
