9:15 p.m., Nov. 2, 2010: Republicans are holding their lead in Grand County tonight with U.S. State Senate candidate Ken Buck and U.S. Congress (2nd District) candidate Stephen Bailey edging out their opponents … locally.

Statewide, however, the race between Buck and Michael Bennett battles on. Buck has a lead on Bennett, 51 percent to 45 percent across the state while 2nd Congressional District incumbent Jared Polis has garnered some 72 percent of the vote in the Boulder area, leaving Bailey in his dust.

Along with the rest of Colorado, Grand County citizens have shown a clear preference for Democratic gubernatorial candidate John Hickenlooper over opponents Dan Maes and Tom Tancredo in early results.

Amendments 60 and 61 and Prop 101 are also on the road to defeat in Grand County and across Colorado.

The “personhood” amendment is failing by a 3-1 margin across Colorado and in Grand County where voters have shot down “Amendment 62” 74 percent to 26 percent.

Some 92 percent of Grand County votes had been counted as of 9:15 p.m., Nov. 2.
