Riverstock shows support for Fraser River, other Grand County waters

To the Editor:

Thanks to sunshine, amazing bands and a community who cares about their rivers, Riverstock was a huge success for the Colorado River Headwaters Chapter of Trout Unlimited. These are the entities that we would like to thank for helping us to educate and activate the 250-plus Grand County residents who came to help influence the future of our local rivers:

Sky-Hi Daily News for bringing awareness to this event and our river issues; Town of Fraser for providing the Event site; Winter Park/Fraser Valley Chamber of Commerce for their equipment, encouragement and expertise; New Belgium Brewery for four excellent kegs of beer; Tour Ice for providing enough ice for the entire event; The Crooked Creek Saloon who donated 20 percent of their evening’s proceeds to Riverstock; Shamrock Foods for 300 brats and buns; Safeway for the potato salad; Cosmic Dog for hours of cooking brats and for providing the best carrot dogs on earth; Fraser Valley ace Hardware for the propane to cook the food; Gary Key and Sam Osborne for the sound equipment and sound control; Fraser Marketplace for the Event parking; Winter Park Resort for the fencing; Lions Club for the tables; Grand County Blues Society for their equipment; McConnell Design and Printing for the educational materials; Kopy Kat for the great deal on the banners; East Grand Fire Department No. 4 and all the fire departments that came to entertain; Ross Reels for the silent auction items; all 7 bands that made the Event special; all the Grand County businesses that donated prizes and/or sold tickets; AND all 43 volunteers who made Riverstock the event of the summer
