Road projects get under way around Grand County
June 10, 2011
GRANBY – Construction work is under way at the intersection of US Highways 34 and 40. Private crews are widening 34 and installing right- and left-turn lanes at the behest of the Colorado Department of Transportation due to increased traffic from Flintstone Gravel and Trucking and the Trash Company’s new Granby Transfer Station on the east side of 34.
Construction at that intersection is expected to last about 60 days.
Elsewhere in Grand County this summer, road work will be ongoing along US 40 north of Kremmling (miles 165-179). Construction crews are scheduled to be paving along that section of road Monday to Friday during daylight hours, from June 22 to September. Delay from 20-25 minutes can be expected.
On the east side of Berthoud Pass, CDOT crews will be making wall repairs and drainage improvements during daylight hours on weekdays from August to October. Impact on traffic will be minimal. One lane will continue in each direction.
