Rocky Mountain National Park artist-in-residence applications open
Rocky Mountain National Park and the Rocky Mountain Conservancy have announced that applications have opened for the 2025 summer artist-in-residence program. Applications are open to artists of all creative disciplines and genres.
“Art has played a major role in the creation of our national parks and in the preservation of our country’s wild spaces,” a news release from the park reads.
Artistic works have been inspiring people to travel, dream, explore and visit their national parks and other public lands for hundreds of years. This artist-in-residence program provides opportunities for artists to connect with their national parks and gain inspiration for the creation of new works.
Rocky Mountain National Park is one of the 50 National Park Service sites that host an artist-in-residence program.
Selected artists will serve a two-week residency within the park inside a rustic cabin to gain inspiration and create artistic works. The participating artists will also host and facilitate at least two free public programs for an all-ages audience.
A panel of judges will review all applications and select at least five artists to participate in the program. Any selected artist will be notified in April, and upon selection, the artist will be able to choose a desired time block for their two-week residency.
Applications close Jan. 31. To apply, visit Go.NPS.gov/romo/air.
