Put on your poodle skirts and step back in time with Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre this fall, as they present The Marvelous Wonderettes, opening this Friday, Aug. 31 at 8 p.m. This blast from the past takes takes you to the 1958 Springfield High School prom where we meet The Wonderettes – Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy and Suzy – four girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts, and the voices to match.

“We have a one-two punch with this show,” explains director Jeff Duke. “Not only does it showcase some of the most timeless and popular music of our time, but we have such a special quartet of voices bringing it to life. Seeing this production will be an unforgettable experience.”

Showcasing some of the most quintessential music from the 1950s and 1960s, the The Marvelous Wonderettes is a true trip down memory lane. As the girls share their lives and loves, they perform beautifully arranged and soulful renditions of such classics as “Lollipop,” “Dream Lover,” “Stupid Cupid,” “Lipstick on Your Collar,” “Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me,” “It’s My Party,” and “It’s In His Kiss (The Shoop Shoop Song).” The perfect end to the 2012 season, this bubbly, irresistible musical is sure to sing its way into your heart.

The Marvelous Wonderettes opens the RMRT Fall Season this Friday, Aug. 31 at 8 p.m., and runs until Sept. 29. Those with opening night tickets will be treated with a party following the show at the Marooned Inn.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased in person at the new Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre, by phone at (970) 627-3421, or online. Additional information, seating charts, and performance calendars can also be found at
