Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre kicks off fall season with ‘Patsy Cline’
Grand County, CO Colorado
In the history of popular music, few voices are considered “timeless.” One of those voices belongs to the legendary Patsy Cline, whose life and music is celebrated at the Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre this fall in the critically acclaimed production of Always … Patsy Cline, opening Friday, Aug. 27, at 8 p.m.
Always … Patsy Cline is based on the true story of the friendship between Patsy Cline and devoted fan Louise Seger, who met before a show Cline was performing in 1961. The two women corresponded until Patsy’s death at age 30 in an airplane crash in 1963.
RMRT returns Grand Lake favorites Mary Nye Bennett (Patsy) and Sarah Louise Anderson (Louise) to tell this powerful and heart-warming story. The production features more than 20 of Patsy’s most memorable songs, including “I Fall to Pieces,” “Crazy,” “Blue Moon of Kentucky,” and “Walk’n After Midnight.”
“Mary and Sarah are two of the most talented and beloved RMRT alumni. It is such a joy to see them sharing the stage for this wonderful piece of theatre.” said Michael Querio, RMRT Artistic Director.
RMRT debuts the 2010 Fall Production after a wildly popular summer season. Always … Patsy Cline runs Aug. 27-Sept. 25. Performances are at 6 p.m. on Thursdays, 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. on Sundays. Call RMRT’s box office at 970-627-3421 to reserve your seats today.
