Grand Lake resident Chris Ruske has announced his intent to run as a Republican candidate for Grand County Commissioner District 2.

Ruske is the volunteer assistant fire chief for the Grand Lake Fire Department as well as a board member for the Grand Lake Fire Protection District and Grand Lake Cemetery Committee Board.

A press release from Ruske states he will bring “experience from running a small business to have worked for an international manufacturing company for 31 years. He has managed media relations, budgets and future concept development having run the High Altitude Test Center for BRP US Inc. until recently.”

Ruske’s primary concerns are Grand County’s financial situation, spending, water issues and affordable housing, the press release states.
