Saturday Nights in the Park

The sweet harmonies and familiar melodies of classic barbershop songs will be floating from the Kawuneeche Visitor Center in Rocky Mountain National Park on Saturday, Aug. 6.

The Grand Chorale will hold its annual performance at the visitor center as the first installment in Rocky’s Saturday Night in the Park event series.

The Chorale is made up of Grand County men and women and is an official member of the Barbershop Harmony Society, an organization with 800 chapters in the US and affiliated chapters across the globe. It’s the chorale’s first year as a co-ed singing group.

Finish off a hike in the park and settle in at the visitor center for classics like “Country Road Take Me Home” and “I’m gonna Live ‘til I die”, along with others from the group’s repertoire.

Saturday Night in the Park events will run through August and September and include a wide range of presentations and film screenings held at the visitor center. Topics range from insects to rivers to historic restoration. The programs start at 7 p.m. The Kawuneechee Visitor Center is located on Highway 34 just north of Grand Lake before the entrance to the park.
