Sen. Udall to see bin Laden photos

DENVER (AP) – A spokeswoman for Sen. Mark Udall says he’ll be among a group of lawmakers allowed to see photographs of Osama bin Laden after his death.

Spokeswoman Tara Trujillo said Wednesday that the Colorado Democrat requested that he view them since he’s a member of the Senate Intelligence and Armed Services Committee. She said he was notified Tuesday that committee members would be able to view them.

She said Udall wanted to see the photos because of his role on the committee but wouldn’t elaborate.

Udall told The Denver Post that having a second branch of government see the photos gives “more credibility” to what happened.

The newspaper says Republican Colorado Reps. Mike Coffman and Doug Lamborn will also be eligible to view the photos since they sit on the House intelligence committee.
