Sheriff’s office issues follow up in insurance investigation

Courtesy Grand County Sheriff’s Office

This is a release issued Friday, June 19 by the sheriff’s office:

The Sheriff’s Office has received several inquiries and some speculation over social media that we feel the need to address and clarify. The information related to this investigation was received by the County on June 9th, 2015 and is in no way related to any past investigations we have conducted or that have been reported by the media. The previous employee involved in this incident has been notified of the investigation, and has not been the subject of any known previous allegations of this nature. It was not the intention of the Sheriff’s Office to create any confusion or draw any suspicion toward anyone who may have been involved in any similar past incidents. The inquiries we have received were related to a past news story and investigation involving a different former employee and these two incidents are not related in any way.

Thank you

Lieutenant Dan Mayer

Patrol Division

Grand County Sheriff’s Office
